About Marcie

Marcie Grzywacz is a Rockwood resident and Wayne county native who was elected as Rockwood Councilwoman in November of 2023. She is a mother of 3, wife of a Union Carpenter and has served 11 years as a critical care nurse advocating for patients and their families at the bedside. Her goals are to advocate on behalf of Rockwood residents, ensure transparency, engage with the community and lead through service. Marcie championed the founding of Rockwood Beautiful Beautification Committee in 2024 and serves as an alternate on the Downriver Community Conference board.

What Does City Council Do For You?

Rockwood City Council is made up of 6 members, and each is elected to a four-year term. Each member is required to be both a resident and a registered voter within the city limit that he/she is seeking office. City Council establishes local laws by the authority given to them through the state constitution and state laws. Some roles include:
