Meet Marcie
Meet Marcie Grzywacz — A Voice for Working Families, A Champion for the Downriver Community.
I am proud to call Wayne County home. Raised in the heart of Wayne, Michigan, I grew up surrounded by the unshakable values of faith, hard work, and resilience. My father, a Vietnam Veteran, was a fearless leader in the auto worker industry; and my mother dedicated long hours to the healthcare field, both inspiring me to follow in their footsteps and serve others with purpose and conviction.
From a young age, I learned the importance of grit, grace, and determination. After graduating high school and starting a family, I faced the unforeseen challenge of raising two children on my own. While juggling three jobs, I pursued my college education, never giving up on my dream. My perseverance paid off when I earned my nursing degree, igniting a lifelong passion for advocating for patients and protecting families at the bedside.
In addition to her nursing career, Marcie made the courageous decision to homeschool her three children — serving as their primary educator for over 10 years. She has also led and directed 8th-grade homeschool classrooms, bringing leadership, creativity, classical education, and compassion into the learning environment. Her dedication to education reflects her deep commitment to empowering the next generation.
Her journey continued as she built a loving, faith-filled family with her husband, a proud union member of Local 687, and became a stepmother to a wonderful daughter. Her deep roots in the working class and firsthand experience with the struggles families face have shaped her unwavering commitment to public service.
Seeing a deep need for change in my community, I ran for Rockwood City Council and in November 2023 became the top vote-getter, earning the title of Mayor Pro Tem. Since then, I continue to work tirelessly to make Rockwood a thriving, family-centered community. I launched a Beautification Committee, serve as a liaison for the Rockwood Housing Commission, and am a bold advocate for fiscal transparency and lowering the cost of living for hardworking families in Rockwood.
Marcie is a patriot and believes in more freedom, less government overreach, and building strong relationships with the people she serves. Her leadership is grounded in serving, listening, connecting, and taking principled action-not empty promises.
Now, Marcie is ready to take our fight to the next level as your next State Senator. She’s committed to standing up for working families, defending your God-given freedoms, protecting your hard-earned dollars, and making sure your voice is heard in Lansing.
